A need of formation of National level Association of Ex-Servicemen working in Public Sector Enterprises was felt by some of the founder members to realise the legitimate/statutory rights which the community is deprived of despite having provision in Government policies/rules. Accordingly, a meeting was conveyed in New Delhi on 25 Sep 2016 with presence of representatives from BDL, BEL, BHEL, DMRC, IOCL, NFL, NTPC, ONGC, SAIL etc. to discuss the issues, problems and challenges of Ex-Servicemen re-employed in CPSEs and it was decided to form a National level Association of Ex-Servicemen for realisation of their causes. The founder members unanimously agreed to form a National level Association namely “All India Forum of Ex-Servicemen in PSEs (AIFEPSEs)” and accordingly application was mooted on 26 Sep 2016 for registration of Forum under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. With registration of the Forum on 05 May 2017 by the Registrar of Societies, New Delhi under registration no. 1767/2017, it became the only National level Association which represents Ex-Servicemen working in Public Sector Enterprises. The Forum is a major stakeholder for welfare of Ex-Servicemen as it represents the largest group of Ex-Servicemen in India having 14.5% and 24.5% human resources of group-C and group-D posts respectively in CPSEs which belong to Ex-Servicemen against respective 10% and 20% in Central Government Departments.
The Forum is destined to work for the welfare and causes of Ex-Servicemen re-employed in Public Sector Enterprises and is being run and managed by Ex-Servicemen. It shall deal with realization of Government authorised privileges like pay fixation, reservation etc. for Ex-Servicemen working in PSEs. The Forum shall endeavour to work for implementation of statutory benefits provisioned in policy guidelines/rules of the Government by taking up the issues with concerned Government Departments or Ministries. With this approach for resolution of the issues, the Forum aims at reducing Ex-Servicemen grievances/RTI/avoidable court cases and saving time and money of both the Government officials and the petitioners.
